A young at heart, friendly and kind 69 year old lady requires a female personal assistant. This lady lives in Coatbridge and struggles with poor mental health and memory issues.
Her interests are helping others in a volunteering role, being out meeting new people, keeping her home nice and tidy and looking after her appearance.
Recent grief and difficult times have left her without a sense of identity, confidence or motivation in her life. It’s important for her to stay healthy.
She seeks to feel valued, with a purpose in her life, to enjoy new friendships in community activities and support groups.
We are looking for a good listener, a patient and understanding individual who can gently motivate and encourage our lady towards a fuller, happier life. A chatty, positive personality who can lift the spirits and understand the changeable element of mental health struggles.
Your role will involve being a kind, caring friend, providing support to help her out of isolation and build a routine in her daily living needs.
Involved in the role is: personal care support, medication administration, assisting with shopping, cooking and household tasks as well as accompanying to GP/hospital and other care appointments.
Being involved in the community is the main aim for our lady, to enjoy life and feel included in society. Going long walks and getting exercise is part of your role and keeps her in good health and spirits. Her Faith and going to Church is especially important to her.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a cat in the home.
Travel will be on public transport.
Experience, reliability and commitment to the job is essential. Training will be provided.
