Summary
Having invested well over the long-term, we are one of the most financially resilient councils in the country. This means we have the resources to make things happen and to drive an extensive development programme whose yields will underpin the economy and fund public services.
Joining our accountancy team, you’ll gain a real hands-on understanding of handling budgets, producing estimates and reports and working with spread sheets and you will play a key role in supporting the Business Partners and Finance Analysts within the team.
We are looking for someone who is flexible and prepared to go the extra mile. We need an ambitious person with a “can-do” attitude to work with colleagues as one team.
A good standard of education to GCSE level is essential, along with an aptitude for numeracy and a genuine interest in managing finances.
In return, you can look forward to an excellent range of benefits including our online benefits platform, generous leave entitlement, flexible working, healthcare cash plan and pension scheme. In addition we will support you in gaining an Association of Accounting Technicians qualification.
What benefits do we offer?
At Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council we offer a wide range of employee benefits to recognise your valued contribution:

Free flu vaccination vouchers
Access to a free and confidential employee assistance program
Support towards a variety of training, including professional qualifications, apprenticeships and wider technical and soft skill development courses
