We are Mantra Learning, the UK’s leading Logistics learning and development organisation. We are an Ofsted grade 2 independent training provider who have specialised in providing training within the sector for over 56 years. The Manchester site is well established as the largest specialist logistics training facility in the UK.
Through our two key brands, The Job Gym and The National Logistics Academy we help thousands of individuals each year to gain new skills. This enables our learners to obtain employment within the logistics sector and drives the long-term growth of the industry.
We work with some of the biggest brands in the country, including Aldi, Wincanton and AO, delivering approximately 400 Apprenticeships, over 2500 Large Goods Vehicle licences and 1,100 Forklift Truck licences each year. The organisation is dedicated to deliver interventions that develop the ‘Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours to enable learners to thrive in life and work’.
The role:
To deliver high-quality English and Maths learning from Entry Level 3 to Level 2, supporting adult learners in developing essential communication and numeracy skills. You will provide a motivating and inclusive learning experience using digital platforms and face-to-face sessions, enabling learners to achieve nationally recognised qualifications and grow in confidence for both work and life.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
• Confident delivery of English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to support learner development and progression.
• Use of digital tools and platforms for remote and hybrid delivery.
• Ability to manage caseloads effectively to ensure timely completion.
• Knowledge of SEN support strategies and inclusive teaching methods.
• Commitment to quality assurance and Ofsted expectations.
• Deliver and assess English and Maths qualifications up to Level 2 in line with the national Functional Skills curriculum.
• Create and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), tailoring teaching to learners’ needs, including those with SEN or low confidence.
• Use blended delivery methods—online, workplace-based, and remote—to engage learners across various contexts and learning preferences.
• Provide clear, timely feedback and constructive marking that supports progression and embeds learning.
• Support learners through email, telephone, video conferencing, and in -person support as appropriate.
• Carry out diagnostic assessments and identify suitable learning pathways.
• Promote and embed Safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values into teaching practice.
• Maintain accurate learner records, progress tracking, and achievement logs on internal systems.
• Contribute to curriculum development and the creation of engaging resources.
Qualifications
• English & Maths quals at level 2 or above.
• Level 3 teaching qualification or above.
Experience:
• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths, up to level 2, to adult learners.
