Are you a passionate and skilled Cook looking for a new challenge?

We are on the lookout for a experienced Cook to join our Care Team in our Dundee Care Home. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and support, and we believe that great food is an integral part of this experience.

As a Cook at Go Be Care, you will play a vital role in creating nutritious and delicious meals that cater to the diverse needs of our residents. Your culinary skills will not only nourish our residents but also enhance their quality of life.

Working in a Care Home as a Chef can be a challenging, however, a very rewarding role to undertake. Whilst you still have the challenge of ensuring the food you prepare is of a high standard, the hours of work are more sociable and allows you to have a better “work, life balance”.

You will need to know how to adapt meals to make them suitable for residents with different dietary needs and be skilled at creating healthy balanced meals for everyone. You will be aware and responsible for ensuring that good nutritional meals are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As well as preparing and cooking meals you may be responsible for managing and ordering the supplies, menu creation and ensuring the kitchen and equipment meets all health and safety requirements.

Ideally, you should have some previous experience working within a Care Home or in a commercial kitchen with an SVQ/ NVQ qualification in food preparation or cooking. Enjoy working as part of a team, in a busy, fast paced environment with a passion for providing the very best dining experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences.
Plan menus that are varied, nutritious, and appealing to our residents.
Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure that meal times are a positive experience for all.
Manage stock levels and assist in the ordering of supplies as needed.
Implement and maintain high standards of food presentation and service.
What We Are Looking For:

Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
Knowledge of nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
A genuine passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly disposition.
