The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We don’t just talk about diversity; we seek it, embrace it and live it, for the benefit of our staff, our communities and our environment. Everyone starting in a new role will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support needed. As part of your comprehensive induction, you'll be provided with all the equipment required for your role.
Do you want to use your specialist biodiversity, habitats regulations experience and collaboration skills to help us protect and enhance the diverse habitats and wildlife of the Humber Estuary, both now and in the future?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Humber Strategy Team as a Habitats Advisor. In this role you will lead on Environment Agency statutory habitat and environmental responsibilities associated with implementing the Humber Flood Risk Management Strategy and development of the new Humber 2100+ Strategy. You will lead and deliver partnership projects, as well as advise and collaborate with others to identify and deliver habitat and biodiversity enhancements at our proposed and existing large habitat sites around the Humber, successfully obtaining the appropriate environmental approvals and enabling effective habitat monitoring and management.
A key part of your role will be to develop and nurture strong working relationships with partners and stakeholders across the Humber and beyond. You will share and apply best practice, linking with groups and wider initiatives to identify opportunities, innovative approaches and multiple benefits.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate. This may attract an additional payment and full training will be available. Please see the candidate pack for information on how you will support with this.
