We are delighted to offer an Occupational Therapy Apprentice position in the Occupational Therapy team.

Occupational Therapy is a rewarding career which requires a highly developed knowledge and professional skill-set to enable you to work across a range of settings and environments.

Occupational Therapists work with individuals from birth to end of life including those with physical and mental health conditions, injury, learning disabilities, long-term conditions, palliative care needs and with those who find themselves displaced from society. Occupational Therapists work to facilitate a patient’s discharge from hospital through enabling patients to maintain or improve their functional ability.

There is no upper age limit on joining us as an Apprentice.

Occupational Therapy Assistants / Degree Apprentices will work under the supervision and guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist for the duration of their Apprenticeship. You will carry out patient treatments and deliver goal plans set following assessment by an Occupational Therapist. This will include working on patients’ performance in completing or participating in activities of daily living. You will work closely with the Occupational Therapists and other members of the team in enabling patients to maintain or improve their function in order to be discharged from hospital.

The Apprenticeship will comprise of:
• On the job training and day release
• Studying key concepts and knowledge relevant to Occupational Therapy
• Mentorship and structured progression for the e-portfolio
• University sessions set for practical components
• Online lectures / interactions to aid flexible learning
• Placements and professional practice experience
• Completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy approved by the HCPC and accredited by the RCOT

- or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment
- or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment
