About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to join a thriving secondary academy in Sheffield from September 2025. This is a full-time position, ideal for a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, inspire digital fluency, and prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st-century tech landscape.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A passion for student progress and digital literacy
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Skills:

  • Coding proficiency in languages
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs
  • Strong data analysis for tracking pupil progress
  • Curriculum planning and assessment design
  • Effective communication with students, staff, and parents
  • Collaborative skills for working within a department and cross-curricular teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Computer Science lessons to KS3-KS4
  • Create engaging schemes of work aligned with national curriculum objectives
  • Use data to monitor progress and set ambitious targets
  • Contribute to the development and sharing of best teaching practice
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments and qualifications
  • Develop pupils' digital skills, critical thinking, and online safety awareness
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and pastoral staff
  • Support the school's safeguarding and inclusion strategies
  • Act as a role model for students in professional conduct and commitment
  • Contribute to school-wide ICT initiatives and events
