Speech and Language Assistant
Hours: 37.5 per week (Term time only 39 weeks per year)
Salary: £21,503.95 (FTE £24,921)
We are looking for a dedicated speech and language assistant to work alongside our newly appointed speech and language therapist in our Acorn Hub provision. This role with involve working with children with communication and interaction difficulties as a member of staff in our Acorn hub provision. The provision has around 10 pupils who have social communication or language difficulties, most of whom are in the early stages of language development.
The successful candidate will be experienced in working with children with Special Educational Needs, developing a personalised approach to support children's communication and learning. They will be confident in supporting children developing their emotional regulation skills and creating meaningful relationships with pupils. They will need an understanding of how to build communication skills for children who are pre-verbal or in the early stages of language and be skilled at creating an engaging communication friendly environment where all our children can thrive.

Successful candidates will:
• Experience working with children with SEND
• Experienced developing children's language.
• Have a positive approach to behaviour.
• Be able to develop children's self-esteem.
• Be creative and innovative within the classroom.
• Have at least GCSE Grade C Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
• Have high expectations of themselves and others.
• Be organised and enthusiastic.
• Be a team player - working in partnership with staff, children, parents, and governors?
• Promotes positive play in the playground and in the class.
• Have the ability to maintain a positive outlook?
Candidates must be:
• Enthusiastic

• Resilient
• Experience in EAL would be beneficial.
