Job Title: Senior Childcare Lawyer

Pay rate: £42.67 per hour PAYE



Basic DBS required



The role:

An experienced and qualified Senior Childcare Lawyer is required to oversee and manage a caseload as well as advising directly, including appearances in courts and tribunals etc.

Good advocacy skills and considerable experience in case management is essential along with demonstrable experience of working as a Childcare Lawyer.



Key requirements:

To respond to requests for advice, representation etc, from employees
To manage all aspects of court representation as required
To advise and present to courts, meetings, members at formal appeal hearings or as required by the County Solicitor
To assume a lead role in advising clients on specialist aspects of law and practice as required and to organise and participate in training events as appropriate
To take part in the Legal Services’ Out of Hours service to provide assistance to the Emergency Duty Team on matters of Childcare



What the client is looking for:

Educated to degree level
Qualified solicitor, CILEx Fellow or Bar Standards Board registered barrister
Childcare law specialist
Strong advocate with solid case management experience
Proven ability to manage own caseload
Skilled in interpreting law, procedures, and casework
Able to present complex facts clearly to support outcomes
Confident in assessing procedural compliance and legal impact
Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills
IT proficient and administratively self-sufficient
