Job Description
Join Our Home Care Team in Glasgow South (Part Time Posts) Please note, this role does not meet Home Office requirements for Visa Sponsorship. Role: Home Carer Location: Southside of Glasgow Pay: £14.20 – £15.57 per hour (depending on shift pattern) Hours: Various part time shifts available – this will be discussed in more detail at interview. Public Holiday working is required Are you based in the Southside of Glasgow and ready to make a real difference in your community? Join Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) as a Home Carer – a local role supporting local people. As a Home Carer, you’ll help older and vulnerable residents live independently at home. Your role includes: • Personal care (washing, dressing, bathing, shaving) • Meal prep (including meat and pork dishes using ovens, microwaves, air fryers) • Medication support • Using specialist moving & handling equipment No Experience? No Problem! We offer a comprehensive 10-day induction: • 8 days of training at our learning hub in Glasgow City Centre • 2 days shadowing other experienced carers Please note – you must be able to complete the 10 day induction which runs full-time: Mon–Fri, 9am–4pm. What You’ll Need: • Compassion and a desire to help others • Willingness to gain an SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (we’ll support and fund this) • SSSC registration (must apply within 2 weeks and be registered within 3 months of employment, we’ll cover the cost) • PVG Scheme membership (you’ll cover the cost) You may be required to travel across the Glasgow South area depending on service needs. Interviews will take place 23rd & 24th July 2025. These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended). Attached to this advert are documents which will assist you when completing your application.Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
