Location: Various locations across the UK
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time
Salary: £16,700 – £21,700 per annum (pro rata)
Application Email: abid@sayarts.com
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sufi Dhol Player to join a UK-wide cultural and spiritual music tour. The artist will be responsible for delivering high-energy, spiritually rooted percussion performances at concerts, festivals, religious gatherings, and community events. The performances will focus on traditional Sufi expressions, including qawwalis, and devotional poetry.
The role involves playing the dhol, a traditional double-sided barrel drum, as part of a larger ensemble. The artist will collaborate closely with vocalists and instrumentalists, participate in rehearsals and stage production, and travel to various venues across the UK. Strong rhythmic ability, professionalism, and physical stamina are essential.
This position is part-time and permanent, with performances scheduled in three seasonal cycles: August to October 2025, December 2025 to January 2026, and February to March 2026. Applicants must be available during these periods and willing to travel frequently and work irregular hours.
Applicants must have experience performing in front of large audiences. As the role involves travel and a demanding schedule, experience in working under pressure in fast-paced environments is crucial.
