What skills and experience we're looking for

Salary Scale: Grade 15 pt. 3-4 (Actual salary £16,682-£16,943)

30 hours per week/ Term time only plus INSET days

(with attendance to departmental meetings on Mondays until 4.15PM)

Starting: September 2025

We are seeking a passionate, energetic and ambitious Learning Support Assistant to join our expanding team of staff at Wadham School. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our school where staff morale is high and classrooms are quiet and purposeful places where learning takes place (Ofsted 2025)

We are a close-knit community secondary school of 760 students with an amazing team of staff that support each other in helping our students become the successful and confident global citizens they deserve to be. This role would suit candidates looking to work 30 hours per week in a busy and thriving school environment, where every day is different and you can make a difference to the students and staff, as well as the wider school community

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

• Demonstrate good levels of Literacy and Numeracy skills
• Be organised and efficient in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate both orally and in your written work with a range of students of all abilities
• Use integrity, flexibility and your own initiative
• Enjoy working with young people and helping them achieve their very best potential in the classroom

You are likely to be someone who:

• Has previous knowledge/ training in Child Protection, Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE2025) or be willing to train
• Has experience of working in an educational setting supporting students with medical conditions
• Has experience and knowledge of students social, emotional and mental health needs
• Is calm, confident and professional at all times
• Has excellent ICT skills in Microsoft Office programmes
• Can demonstrate the skills to communicate and build professional relationships
