What skills and experience we're looking for

Looking for a role where you can take real ownership and see the wider impact of your work?

This is your chance to run the end-to-end admissions process for a college that stands apart from others. As the Admissions Officer at UTC Portsmouth, a STEM specialist college in Portsmouth, you’ll be the driving force behind how future students and families discover us - guiding them from first interest all the way to enrolment.

Taking the lead on both our Year 10 and Year 12 intake, you will be working closely with the Marketing Manager to take those initial interests through to confirmed places. It’s a role with real autonomy - but with the support of a wider team to help you succeed. As the Admissions Officer, you will have access to the systems, technology and support you need to thrive.

UTC Portsmouth doesn’t feel like a typical school - and this is because we aren’t. We are a specialised STEM college, the only one of its kind in the local area. Our students are here because they want to be, and they feel part of something unique, with a shared love of STEM.

As the Admissions Officer, you’ll be someone with a good grasp of IT, and confident in picking up new systems - though full training is provided. You’ll enjoy being organised, proactive and approachable, bringing strong communication skills to help families feel informed and supported throughout the process. No two days are the same, so you will be able to adapt to different requirements, including assisting with open days and careers events.
