An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Gracemount Learning Community, for an enthusiastic person to join our team as Youth worker supporting learners across the three schools. The successful candidate will be someone who is nurturing in their approach and is capable of building positive relationships with our pupils, parents and staff. At Gracemount we believe that better relationships enable better learning and this will produce better behaviour in school. We are looking for a positive, energetic and enthusiastic person to join our fantastic team to support our strategy on attendance and engagement in learning.
The candidate will join our Learning Community Team (Gracemount Primary, Frogston Primary and Gracemount High School) and get to know our families and our supports and work with the teams who are already supporting family learning.
Gracemount Learning Community has a highly committed and highly motivated staff team who work effectively to meet the needs in our school. Staff are keen to embrace the debate around equity and closing the gap and we are building long-term sustainable supports to meet the needs of our pupils. We are keen to have high expectations for all and be as aspirational as possible building resilience and working hard to remove barriers to learning.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
