I am excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and professional team on a part-time basis in a well-regarded, family-run practice located in a sought-after market town in North Essex.

About the Practice:

Established in 2014, this independent, family-run practice has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a loyal client base of pleasure and competition horse owners. The practice offers a wide range of first-opinion services, from routine vaccinations and dentistry to advanced diagnostics and lameness workups.

The team is experienced, supportive, and collaborative, with one vet specialising in orthopaedics and actively studying with ISELP to deepen expertise in equine lameness.

Facilities:

The practice is fully mobile and equipped with state-of-the-art portable technology, including Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, Gastroscope, Lameness Locator and Shockwave Therapy.

The Role:

• Part-time: 2 days per week, with potential to increase to 3–4 days depending on caseload
• On-call: 1 night per week and 1 in 5 weekends
• Routine hours: Appointments booked between 9am and 5pm, logistically planned to minimise travel

Case Variety:

• Routine dentals and vaccinations
• Castrations
• Poor performance investigations
• Emergency and pre-purchase exams
• Lameness assessments and medical workups
