Crynodeb

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled MFL Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Bishop's Stortford area. This is a full-time, permanent position starting September 2025 - ideal for a passionate linguist who wants to bring French, Spanish or German to life for KS3-KS5 students.

The school is well-regarded locally for its high standards and supportive ethos, offering a dynamic environment for teachers to thrive. Whether you're an experienced classroom practitioner or an ECT with a passion for languages, you'll find a welcoming team and plenty of opportunity to grow.

You'll be working school hours on a permanent contract, with an attractive salary that reflects your experience and contribution. You'll be well-compensated with a pay structure aligned with the MPS/UPS scale, ensuring your expertise is valued.

The school offers excellent CPD pathways, encouraging teachers to take on additional responsibility or pursue specialist training. Join a workplace that celebrates cultural diversity, values collaboration, and supports every student in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach French, Spanish or German across KS3-KS5
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• Track pupil progress and use data to inform teaching
• Support the wider MFL department with curriculum planning
• Encourage a love of languages and intercultural understanding
• Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and routines
• Attend staff meetings, INSET and parents' evenings
• Contribute to enrichment or extracurricular language opportunities

Qualifications and Experience

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• Degree in French, Spanish, German or a related subject
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
• Ability to teach up to KS4 (KS5 experience is a bonus)
• Passion for languages and enthusiasm for the subject
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A team player with excellent communication
