Health and Safety Assistant
£25k - £30k per annum depending on experience
6-month fixed-term contract
Monday – Friday / 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm
Mold
Our client based in Mold are currently looking to recruit a Health and Safety Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract. As the Health and Safety Assistant you will assist the HSE and Conversion Department Managers by managing routine systems. The jobholder has a key role within the business supporting the plant in maintaining accreditations and legislative requirements.
Performance Objectives
• Management of HSE routine systems including but not limited to:
o First Aid room replenishment and First Aid station monitoring.
o Legionella routine checks.
o Asbestos routine inspections.
o Waste segregation monitoring.
o Occupation Health appointment management.
o COSHH Compliance monitoring.
o Arco PPE machines.
o Fire hydrant and extinguisher maintenance.
o Fire pump testing.
• Distribution and tracking of actions arising from SIB’s.
• Maintenance of contractor management system.
• Coordination of workwear distribution and ordering.
• Managing Audit programme.
• Administrative support for HSE manager as required.
• Monitoring refresher reviews for RA/SSoW in conversion and despatch.
• Work with shift managers to ensure reviews of RA/SSoW are completed.
Person Specification
• Confident manner to deal with customers, contractors and key contacts.
• Good communication skills.
• Initiative and ability to work on own under guidelines.
• Good command or willing to undertake training in IT systems.
• Flexible.
• Self-motivated and Self organising.
• Confidentiality.
• Knowledge of accreditations/H&S desirable.
