LTF Recruitment is working with a high-achieving and supportive mainstream secondary school in DE15 to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 4 students preparing for their GCSEs. This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a tangible difference in a structured classroom setting by supporting pupils as they work towards critical academic milestones.
The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day classroom experience of Key Stage 4 learners:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support during GCSE-focused lessons
- Support classroom teachers to differentiate materials and manage learning targets
- Work closely with SENCOs and subject leads to implement tailored academic interventions
- Help pupils stay engaged, manage workload pressures, and build confidence in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science
- Provide pastoral support and help students manage exam-related stress and anxiety
What We're Looking For
We're seeking committed individuals who are passionate about education and understand the challenges and pressures faced by KS4 learners:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
- Previous experience working in a secondary school environment (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a calm approach to support students facing academic pressure
- Confidence working with pupils who may have additional needs (SEN, SEMH, or low academic confidence)
- A proactive, can-do attitude and strong teamwork skills
