Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and ready to make a difference in a nurturing, inclusive school environment?
We're working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Middleton area looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
About the School:
-A one-form entry primary school supporting pupils aged 3-11
-Serves a diverse community with a high number of children with additional needs
-SEND profile includes pupils with ASD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH
-Rated Good by Ofsted - recognised for its inclusive ethos and strong pastoral care
-A creative, child-centred curriculum focused on holistic development
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping pupils access learning, regulate behaviour, and develop key skills. You'll work both 1:1 and in small groups, guided by the class teacher and SENCO.
-Support pupils with a range of SEN needs
-Implement individualised strategies and EHCP targets
-Foster positive relationships and model emotional regulation
-Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals
-Promote a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
What We're Looking For:
✅ Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting
✅ Strong behaviour management and communication skills
✅ Patient, calm, and adaptable approach
✅ Teaching Assistant qualification
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
