As a Commis Chef, you’ll play a key role in supporting the kitchen team with the preparation and production of meals, always working within budget and in line with company, client, and statutory regulations.

This is a great opportunity to build your culinary skills and gain experience in a professional setting with clear room for growth.

Job Description

This is a hands-on role in a lively, buffet-style service environment where customers are served at the counter before heading to the till.

You'll be expected to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation while contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen operation.

Key Responsibilities

Support daily kitchen operations, including stock checks, ordering, and deliveries
Assist in meal preparation and service to company and client standards
Maintain cleanliness and safety across all kitchen areas and equipment
Follow standard recipes and adjust production based on client numbers
Ensure compliance with food safety, budget, and legal requirements
Cover Head Chef duties during absence and support with training and records
Assist with special functions, respond to feedback, and support across other units as needed

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Experience with salad bar setup and main meal prep preferred
Open to apprenticeship opportunities if required
Flexible and considered approach to candidate selection
Well presented, pleasant, and team-oriented
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Previous food service and till operation experience
Awareness of COSHH and manual handling procedures
