Accounts/Payroll
Apprentice




Being trained on the job to assist within the accounts team
so as to be proficient in this work in order to undertake tasks under own
supervision in time.




Payroll administration to include:






Payroll
processing for clients

Dealing
with day-to-day queries arising from payroll

Ensuring
up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation

Backing
up and updating payrolls when processed

Liaising
with payroll clients as and when necessary

Processing
paperwork from HMRC and other government bodies

Organising/filing
payroll related paperwork

Working
within the software system Pegasus




Accounts work, to include:






Liaising
with HMRC and VAT office as required

Preparation
of VAT returns

Speaking
directly with clients as necessary

Assisting
with invoicing (in-house and external)

Assisting
with purchase processing as required (in-house and external)




Once qualified through the course:

Preparation
of clients’ accounts




Preparation
of clients’ self-assessment returns and partnership returns

Preparation
of limited company accounts and submitting the same to Companies House and
HMRC


Training
STANDARD & LEVEL
The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.

Off-the-job training
Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training, 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be ‘off-the-job’. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.
Stacks of support
Assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. When you start, you will be allocated a skills coach, who will visit you at least once a month to guide and support you and help you to plan for your future. We will also provide you with specialist support for your English and maths and for any additional needs that you make us aware of.


Qualifications required
Level 3 a minimum of English and maths grades A*- C (9-4) (or equivalent) are
desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 are a requirement
to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.

Prospects
This is
a growing practice and the opportunity beyond the apprenticeship is available
for the right candidate. One previous apprentice is now successfully employed
by the company on a permanent basis having qualified and is continuing to grow
as the company grows. He has been employed for 7 years+.
