A successful and established company in Kidlington is seeking a motivated and experienced Operations Manager preferably from a transport background to oversee and enhance the operational processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, problem solving, managing staff, and implementing strategies to improve productivity and quality.

This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while fostering a positive work environment.

Duties

  • Supervise daily operations to ensure operational effectiveness, efficiency and

adherence to company policies.

  • Support the Transport Manager with prioritising workload, managing resource

allocation, and helping to ensure compliance with the Operators License.

  • Support Department Managers to help lead a team of employees, providing

operational guidance, support, and operational performance evaluations.

  • Provide direct line management for other employees, including 20+

Drivers, as well as Parts and Procurement and in-house Laundry personnel.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and

identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with Department Managers to streamline processes and enhance

communication across the organisation.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working

environment for all staff.

  • Implement and oversee ongoing training for staff to promote development
  • Prepare reports on operational performance for senior management review.

Skills

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of making informed decisions under

pressure.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with various

stakeholders.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in operations management, ideally within the transport sector
  • Line management in an operational environment
  • IT competent (Microsoft Office)
  • Administration systems - familiarity with digital platforms and ideally, experience

using vehicle and fleet management software and tools

  • Logistics and planning - experience in organising complex activities involving

multiple stakeholders, departments and locations.

Excellent team environment and location, working Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm plus out of hours when needed, salary offered is c£40k
