Who we are looking for:
We are seeking to appoint a Family Liaison Officer to work closely with our attendance and pastoral team to promote excellent attendance, reduce absence, and improve punctuality, helping our students thrive and succeed. A large part of this role involves providing daily face to face welfare checks for students not in school and we are looking for a confident and articulate person who is passionate about supporting our most vulnerable students to engage with education.
The successful candidate will work with individual students, groups, and families to improve attendance, support the consistent implementation of school policies, and help the pastoral team address barriers to learning so all students can reach their full potential.
The post is for 37 hours per week, term time only plus five school training days.
This role reports to the Attendance Officer.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience of working with students who require additional support both academically and emotionally
• Experience of Microsoft Office packages
• Experience of working effectively with others to meet common goals
• NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant discipline
• High level of IT literacy
• Recognised first aid certificate
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Willingness to undertake further professional development
• Valid full UK driving licence
