Summary
We require a fully qualified Joiner. You should be qualified to City and Guilds Advanced standard or equivalent and have served a recognised apprenticeship or undergone modern training to an equivalent standard.
Working as part of the Maintenance team, principally working onJoinery projects.Youwillbe responsible forcarrying outgeneral maintenance of the buildings structure fabric, finishes and fittings including fire door maintenance within the Trusts building maintenance service.
Providing support to other crafts personnel and contractors with reference to plant, equipment, site facilities, building fabric and grounds infrastructure.
A full driving licence is essential.
The successful applicant may be required to join our emergency cover rota after a probationary period, which may involve working unsocial hours on occasion

To carry out maintenance work within a safe environment and to a high quality across the full range of building fabric, ironmongery, engineering services,plantand equipment, which will involve the use of fine hand instrumentation and woodworking equipment. This also involves the calibration of such equipment
Have the ability tointerpret technical detailed manuals, undertake complex fault diagnose and repair complex Trust Building facilities,assistin commissioning, problem solve new technical services and communicate technical knowledge to others, particularly in the safe use of equipment.
Plan and organise the maintenance work associated with the postholdersresponsibilities
Work within the Facilities Managements Information System and to adhere to all managerial requirements.
Maintain records of work carried outin accordance withworking practices.
Ensure the security of all plant,equipmentand buildings under thejurisdictionof the Maintenance Department.
Supervise,communicateand develop Maintenance support workers and assess/evaluate the quality of the work.
The post holder shall support the provision of professional supervision, induction training of new starters,Apprenticesand other Maintenance staff as part of a Personal Development Programme.
Carry out building fabric installation improvement works.
Drive Trust vehicles toassistin the collection and delivery of maintenance items and service deliveryin accordance withthe Trust Transport Policy.
Undertake training where necessary and to learn new techniques across a range of core trade areas.
To support, advise and action Policy and Safe Working Procedures.
Assistin the Statutory testing programme to ensure compliance with current legislation.
To work in potentially hazardous areas, confined spaces and contaminated equipment taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage allin accordance withthe Trust and Department –Health and Safety Policies and Safe Working Procedures.
To report any building, plant and equipment failures and request in writing for the supply of goods or services taking reference to Maintenance manuals, manufacturers dataetc..The post holder shallassistin the maintenance of stock levels.
To liaise with Wards and Department staff to ensure the requested complex and routine work is specified correctly to meet theusersneeds, provided efficiently and completed within the agreed priority response periods
Be conversant with the current edition of the Electrical Safety Code for Low Voltage Systems for Competent Persons
The post holder shall promptly respond to unpredictable incidents and emergency requests received via Hospital Bleep and or mobile communications
To undertake fault finding and problem solve faults to a complex range of building fabric elements,ironmongeryand hardware.
Toassistinsite basedsurveys, including the reporting of defects.
