Job Overview:
The General Assembly Operative is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting products according to company standards. This includes following detailed work instructions, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safe working practices. The role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of assembly techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Assembly: Assemble products or components by hand or using automated machines, ensuring that each item meets quality specifications and safety standards.

Quality Control: Inspect finished goods for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor immediately.

Operation of Equipment: Safely operate tools and machinery, including drills, screwdrivers, presses, and other assembly equipment, to carry out the assembly process.

Following Specifications: Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, or assembly instructions to ensure correct assembly processes are followed.

Maintaining Workspace: Keep workstations clean, organized, and safe. Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper handling of materials and tools.

Documentation: Record production data such as hours worked, units assembled, and material usage as required by the production team.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other assembly operatives and team members to ensure production targets are met and work processes are efficient.

Packaging & Shipping: Assist with the packaging and labelling of products for shipment, ensuring that all packaging meets company standards.

Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly role is preferred, though training may be provided.

Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions. Soldering experience on through hole PCB /Cable or wiring assembly is an advantage

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality control, ensuring that each product meets required specifications.

Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hand tools and machines effectively and safely.

Team Player: Ability to collaborate with other team members and departments to achieve production goals.

Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace.

Working Conditions:
Hours are standard 8:00am -4:30PM Mon-Fri.

Environment: Work in a factory or warehouse setting. Protective equipment, such as safety goggles, gloves, and hearing protection, may be required.

Physical Demands: The job sometimes requires standing for extended periods, and operating repetitive tasks.

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required but not absolute.

Desirable Attributes:
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Flexibility and adaptability to work on various stages of the assembly process.

Willingness to undergo further training in manufacturing techniques and equipment.
