We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Driver, on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.85 - £16.17 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Fleet Driver to provide cover for driver absences across our passenger transport services. The role involves the safe and timely transportation of passengers, including vulnerable individuals, in line with service standards and safety regulations. This is a frontline role requiring flexible availability, including Saturday working on a rota basis.
Responsibilities:
Safely transport passengers, including wheelchair users, in accordance with service needs.
Ensure passenger welfare and promote safety at all times.
Operate a variety of fleet vehicles as required, especially during emergencies or staff shortages.
Adhere to all safety and operational procedures, including vehicle documentation and tachograph use.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and basic upkeep to a high standard.
Requirements:
Full, clean UK driving licence with Category D (required)
Manual Handling training (desirable)
Emergency First Aid certificate (desirable)
Knowledge of securing wheelchairs and safe passenger handling
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years driving experience
Experience transporting passengers, particularly vulnerable individuals
Familiarity with working to tight schedules and time-critical routes.
