Job Brief
The role involves working within the Operations and Finance Team, carrying out a multitude of administrative tasks in accordance with the Company guidelines. You will be dealing with suppliers, processing spreadsheets, administrating, and maintaining the company fleet.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Buyer / Storekeeper to manage purchasing activities and oversee inventory control. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate stock levels to ensure smooth operations across the company.
You will be trained on Fuzion 4’s operating system and will be expected to gain an awareness of various electrical, fire and security systems, as well as learning industry terminology.
This is a team-based role, but the ability to work confidently and effectively on your own initiative will be paramount. You must be well presented, a quick learner, and able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Duties can change from time to time subject to client’s requirements and change to the marketplace.
Contractual Information
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Office Based
Probation Period: 6 Months
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5pm with a 30minute unpaid break for lunch
Salary: £26,000 per annum
You will receive 22 days of paid holiday plus all UK statutory Bank Holidays, which increases with time served. You will also be auto-enrolled onto the workplace pension scheme after 3-months, you can opt-out should you choose.
Responsibilities & Duties
Purchasing (Buyer Duties):
• Source and procure materials, equipment, and supplies at competitive prices.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Obtain and compare quotes to select the best value in terms of quality, price, and delivery time.
• Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Coordinate with other departments to determine purchasing needs and specifications.
• Monitor market trends and identify new suppliers or alternative products.
• Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Liaising with suppliers.
• Setup new products in the database.
• Manage stock locations.
• Processing estimating spreadsheets into the job management system.
• Maintain the company fleet via the management software.
• Order company clothing.
Storekeeping (Inventory Duties):
• Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, reorder points, and usage.
• Organise and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient storage environment.
• Conduct regular inventory counts (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
• Issue materials to various departments as requested, maintaining proper documentation.
• Prevent stock losses through proper storage, handling, and security.
• Prepare and submit inventory reports to management.
Experience
• Must have previous experience working in an administration environment.
• Must have a good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Skills & Competencies Required
• Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written, as well as being literate and numerate.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Have the ability to correspond clearly, concisely, and politely with administrators, technicians, customers, and external organisations, whether by telephone or written communication.
• Have the skills to be multi-faceted and the ability to carry out numerous duties across various departments.
• Be confident and efficient in managing own time whilst carrying out a multitude of tasks.
