Job purpose
I’m looking for an experienced Female Support Worker to help develop my daughter’s social skills so she can make friends more easily. The ideal applicant would have previous experience with children who have disabilities, communication and behavioural challenges. We have a family dog, other children in our household and adults who smoke, though only in the garden. However, you will support my daughter in the community so no support in the home is required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To assist my daughter while out in the community
Support with community/exercise activities
Help my daughter learn the value of money (e.g. about her allowance and teaching her to spend accordingly)
Support my daughter to develop her social and communication skills

Essential Criteria
Must be female for this role (*Schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies)
Previous experience with challenging behaviour
Driving licence and access to own vehicle
Previous experience with people who have autism spectrum disorder and learning disabilities
Able to engage in lone working
Good communication

Desirable Criteria
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Health and social care NVQ or equivalent

Summary terms and conditions
Hours, days and times of work:
3 hours per week or 6 hours per fortnight to be worked on weekends, ideally on Sundays. During school holidays, this can be changed to mid-week.
Pay rate: £15.00 per hour
Mileage: Covered up to 45 per mile
Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
