As the Dispensary Manager, you will play a vital leadership role, ensuring the smooth operation of all dispensary functions while maintaining efficiency, compliance, and profitability. Your responsibilities will include: Line Management & Workflow Oversight Planning, allocating, and managing the workflow of dispensary staff to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Providing managerial and supervisory support to all dispensary team members. Leading performance appraisals, staff development, and mentorship for trainees and students. Line managing the dispensary team to ensure a well-coordinated and productive environment. Dispensing & Operational Duties Overseeing all dispensing matters within the practice, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Dispensing prescriptions to patients while ensuring correct protocol adherence. Checking colleagues dispensing work as needed. Managing prescription charges, cashing up, and balancing received payments. Cross-referencing prescription charges against statements to guarantee accuracy. Supporting the clinical pharmacist and pharmacy technician, deputising for them when required. Stock, Compliance & Protocol Management Monitoring and managing stock levels to maintain efficiency, minimise wastage, and control expenditure. Processing invoices for payment while liaising with the practice manager. Maintaining cleanliness and safety within the dispensary in line with regulations. Ensuring dispensary operations align with guidelines set by NICE, CQC, and other regulatory bodies. Conducting audits and reviewing the latest guidance to ensure the dispensary conforms to regulatory standards. Strategic & Financial Oversight Keeping the dispensary and pharmacy financially viable, ensuring efficiency and profitability in accordance with the partner's directives. Monthly review of drug tariff price categories to stay up to date. Updating and maintaining the computerised Drug Directory in collaboration with the nominated partner. Receiving and actioning CAS-Alerts, ensuring relevant information is shared with clinicians. Attending and contributing to practice meetings to improve procedures and communication. Supporting the clinical pharmacist in producing pharmacy/prescribing newsletters or bulletins on a quarterly basis. Communication & Medicines Leadership Acting as a key point of contact for all medicines-related matters, establishing positive working relationships across teams.
