An amazing opportunity has arisen in our small team of midwives to care for women and families with socially complex needs; planning and implementing individualised midwifery led care in partnership with the woman and the multidisciplinary team.
You will be working alongside multi professional teams providing the most appropriate care for women whilst breaking down barriers that can inhibit women with socially complex lives accessing high quality maternity care.

To work within the community midwifery teams caring specifically for women and families who have socially complex and/ or safeguarding needs during the antenatal and postnatal period. You will work closely with the Safeguarding Team, as well as the wider Multi disciplinary and inter agency teams.

1. As a midwife working with women and families with socially complex and safeguarding needs you will be; planning and implementing individualised midwifery led care in partnership with the woman and the multidisciplinary team.
2. You will be working alongside multi professional teams providing the most appropriate care for women whilst breaking down barriers that can inhibit women with socially complex lives accessing high quality maternity care.
3. Inaccordancewiththejobdescriptionofa band6midwife,provideantenatalandpostpartum care reporting and deviations from the normal to a more experienced midwife, and respond appropriately to all emergency situations.
4. Encourageaholistic,non-stigmatizingapproachtosociallycomplexwomenandtheirfamilies
5. Provide high quality, evidence-based care and advice to women throughout the antenatal and postnatal period in community and hospital site.
6. Work in partnership with other health care professionals and liaise closely with other agencies involved in the provisions of maternity services and seek advice from the Safeguarding Midwives/Team Leader as required.
7. Recognisethatthe vulnerabilityfactorscanbeinterrelatedandthatparentalfactorsincrease vulnerability to child abuse and neglect.
