Senior Architectural Technician
A regional house builder have a requirement for Senior Architectural Technician to join their team based in Liverpool
Reporting to the Head of Technical you will be responsible for the general day to day running of the design and technical aspects of new build housing developments. You will coordinate all design information between external consultants and internal departments ensuring that approvals are obtained in a timely manner and issued to other departments.
Senior Architectural Technician duties and responsibilities:
- Site feasibility stage throughout the sites development and to completion and handover to the relevant authorities/discharge of obligations
- Delivery of work to targets set, production of accurate and timely reports for the business and checking the adequacy, accuracy and commercial suitability of information flowing through the department
- Collation of design information for procurement tender and construction issue and live site support with attendance of development team meetings in conjunction with the other teams
- Work with the Land Department to ensure smooth transition of all architectural information takes place
- Check all architectural drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability
- Liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met
- Apply for and secure planning permission for all architectural design and relevant regulation approval
- Attend site visits and meetings to solve any problems that arises during the construction process
- Attend design meetings with planning departments to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments
- Procure sketch layouts and architectural design solutions
- Provide provisional assessment of architectural design requirements
- Review technical information and provide value architectural design
- Procure complete working drawing packages for each development from consultants and check prior to issue, using core house types where possible
- Complete, approve and formalize the Building Regulation and CFSH applications
- Monitor progress of the Building Regulation and CFSH applications and obtain approval
- Assist the Head of Technical to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all architectural design requirements
Experience & Skills Required
The successful Senior Architectural Technician must have previous experience working in a similar role within new build housing. Additional skills required include:
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft packages (advanced knowledge)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Highly organized and ability to work under pressure
- Professional attitude and approach to work
- Engineering related qualification, degree or equivalent
- High level of proficiency in relevant design and technical based software like AutoCAD
