We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Vale of Glamorgan to assist with the appointment of a Licensing Support Officer, on a 3.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.47 - £17.45 per hour

Summary:

The Licensing Support Officer is responsible for the administration and support of licensing functions across Bridgend, Cardiff, and the Vale of Glamorgan under the Shared Regulatory Services. The post supports the delivery of licensing services to ensure public protection through effective processing of applications, data management, and customer service.

Responsibilities:

Process, determine, and issue various types of licences, permits, and registrations.
Assess applicant suitability for licenses in the interest of public safety.
Respond to general and complex enquiries via written communication, telephone, and face-to-face interactions.
Handle application payments, issue receipts, and maintain financial records in accordance with council procedures.
Manage data input into both paper-based and computer-based systems using general and specialist licensing software.
Qualifications:

Proven administrative experience, ideally in a regulatory or public sector environment.
Knowledge of licensing legislation, policies, and procedures or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with managing databases or specialist software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle complex enquiries professionally.
Good numeracy skills and experience in handling payments and maintaining accurate financial records.
