Thompson Holistic Care Services (THCS) is a domiciliary care agency based in London, whose mission is supporting Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivors across the UK. THCS specialises in supporting clients with histories of non-engagement - whether due to breakdowns in professional and personal relationships - through highly-responsive, person-centered support packages.
At THCS, we support adults living with enduring, complex brain injuries and support needs to live more safely and independently in their own homes and communities. With the high-quality continuity of support provided by our rehabilitation support workers, we work with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) such as case managers, social workers, neurologists, psychologists, and therapists to carry out evidence-based rehabilitation programs.
THCS takes pride in delivering high-quality continuity of support for all of our clients, whilst support all of our staff. We recruit specifically and to permanent roles, providing highly-trained and experienced rehabilitation support workers to find the right ‘match’ for our clients - most of our support workers have been working closely with us for more than four years. Our organisation has been described as a “phenomenal” boutique support service, often going above and beyond to help those with life-changing injuries to get their lives back on track.
We are currently recruiting a rehabilitation support worker to work with our ABI/TBI client and his wife in the Middleton area (Manchester). Our client is an approximately sixty year-old male living in his own home, who is seeking an experienced ABI/TBI rehabilitation support worker to develop and maintain greater purpose, structure, and daily routine as he tries to regain independence with independent living skills and activities of daily living - responsibilities would include supporting our client to live with impaired short- and long-term memory, facilitating twice-weekly gym workouts, and motivating him to engage in his rehabilitation programme to live a more fulfilling, independent life.
Our client has funding for 2x 5-hour sessions weekly (days and times to be mutually agreed with the client and his team), paying £13.00 to £16.00 per hour dependent on experience. Because of our client’s complex needs, ABI/TBI experience is essential and must be clearly demonstrated on your CV. Access to your own vehicle is preferred to facilitate community visits with our client, but is not essential. Candidates seeking sponsorship need not apply.
The ideal rehabilitation support worker should be a resilient, reliable, and highly motivated individual who demonstrates a high standard of written and verbal communication skills, quickly builds and maintains positive, working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and works under professionals’ and their own direction. If you are interested in working with our small, highly-focused team to empower our client to live more independently in their own home and community, then please forward your CV here.
