Are you looking for your next challenge? Do you want a role that is rewarding with lots of opportunity to develop and progress? We have an exciting new opportunity for a full time Finance Assistant to join our Financial Services team. This role will be based at Phoenix House, Tiverton, with the ability to work in a hybrid way, and will assist the team across a wide range of tasks to provide an efficient and effective service to the Authority.
As a Finance Assistant, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Undertaking a range of control account reconciliations;
• Assisting with the preparation of estimates, budget monitoring and final accounts;
• Providing ad hoc support to the Exchequer and Procurement Teams;
• Providing ad hoc assistance on various projects/tasks within Financial Services;
• The day-to-day provision of financial advice and assistance to senior officers.
About you:
• You will have good numeracy skills and be able to work accurately with an attention to detail;
• Good communication and problem solving skills and be competent in the use of IT;
• Ideally you will be actively studying for a recognised accountancy qualification (AAT or CCAB), or have an interest in beginning one of these qualifications;
• Commitment to delivering a quality service.
Although previous experience in a finance role will be beneficial, this is not essential. Appropriate support and training will be given to the successful candidate to enable them to fulfil the role and work towards future progression.
