Looking to kickstart your career in accounts and admin?
We’re a friendly construction industry team looking for a motivated Trainee Accounts Administration Assistant to join us at our head office in Henstridge, Somerset. This is a fantastic entry-level role with plenty of support and opportunities to grow, including help towards gaining formal accountancy qualifications. If you’re organised, eager to learn, and ready to take your first step into the world of finance and admin, we’d love to hear from you.

You must be a driver due to the location of the business
Key Responsibilities:
• Clerical and Administrative Support: Answering phones, managing mail, filing documents, and data entry.
• Financial Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Invoice Processing: Generating, processing, and tracking invoices.
• Payment Processing: Ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers and vendors.
• Reconciliations: Performing bank reconciliations and reconciling various accounts.
• Data Entry and Analysis: Inputting financial data into accounting systems and potentially performing basic analysis.
• Compliance: Ensuring that financial records and transactions adhere to company policies and relevant regulations.
• Reporting: Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements.
Essential Skills:
• Basic Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices. – Not essential as full training will be provided
• Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial data and record-keeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Word, Excel, and potentially other accounting software.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, for interacting with colleagues and contractors.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records.
