Job Opportunity: Fire Stoppers – MOD Site (High-Security Project)
Location: Reading Berkshire
Project Type: Large-Scale Commercial (MOD – Ministry of Defence Site)
Contract Type: Temporary, potentially Long run of work for the right candidates
Start Date: Immediate start, subject to suitability
Rate: £22 per hour, plus travel and lodge where applicable
We are currently seeking experienced Fire Stoppers to join our team on a high-profile MOD (Ministry of Defence) commercial project. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a prestigious, high-security site requiring precision, professionalism, and a strong commitment to quality and compliance.
Role Responsibilities:
• Installation of passive fire protection systems in accordance with specifications
• Fire stopping of service penetrations in walls and floors
• Application of fire-resistant materials and sealants
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant fire safety regulations and site protocols
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and fire protection designs
Requirements:
• Valid CSCS card with Fire Stopping competency
• Proven experience in fire stopping installation on high-integrity or secure sites
• MOD clearance or ability to pass security vetting (preferred)
• Ability to work effectively in a safety-critical, controlled environment
• Strong understanding of fire safety regulations and best practices
• PPE and own tools (preferred)
Preferred Experience:
• Previous work on MOD or other government/secure facilities
• Knowledge of a variety of fire stopping systems (e.g., batt and mastic, fire collars, wraps, sealants)
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-level defence project. Only candidates with relevant qualifications and experience will be considered. Strict adherence to security and safety standards is mandatory.
