Established in 2018, spotty dog day care is based in West Sleekburn industrial estate in Bedlington. We are looking for 2 part time day care assistants aged 18+ available at our peak times Monday- Friday and some Saturdays. 10-25 hours available every week at £12.21 an hour.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate doggy day care assistant to provide exceptional care for pets in a day care setting. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for animals and the ability to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being while their owners are away. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and excellent customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners.
Responsibilities
• Provide daily care for pets, including feeding and administering medication as needed.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for pets by maintaining good hygiene standards throughout the premesis.
• Engage in playtime and exercise to promote the physical and mental well-being of the animals.
• Monitor pet behaviour and health, reporting any concerns to the owner promptly.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and any issues that may arise during care.
• Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving pet supplies or assisting larger animals.
• Maintain accurate records of pet care routines and any special instructions provided by the owner.
Qualifications
• Level 2 diploma in canine care is desirable but not mandatory
• Dog first aid trained or willing to undertake the course within first month of joining
• Previous experience in animal care settings is highly desirable.
• The ability to interact positively with pet owners.
• A genuine passion for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
• Ability to manage physically demanding tasks associated with pet care.
• Excellent communication skills to ensure clear understanding between you and pet owners.
• Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate varying needs of clients, including weekends or holidays if necessary.
