A Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will be expected to attend two EBUS lists per week, with an annual procedural volume of over 120 EBUS procedures, accounting for leave and service requirements. This post is ideally suited for either a senior respiratory specialty trainee (SpR) aiming to acquire competency in EBUS, or an advanced practitioner seeking to further refine and consolidate their technique.
Additional responsibilities include participation in weekly lung cancer clinic, a 1 in 6 ward week rota.
Attendance at the weekly lung cancer MDT meeting and contribution to general respiratory clinic.
The EBUS service at the Trust encompasses both endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), offering a comprehensive exposure to thoracic diagnostic pathways within a high-performing multidisciplinary team environment.
The posts below has a commitment to the respiratory ward (approx. 1 week in 6) as well as to general respiratory clinics and the respiratory out of hours rota.
An educational supervisor will be made available for all posts. The post is suitable for trainees either at the junior SPR level or more senior trainees wishing to gain subspeciality experience prior to applying for consultant posts. The post is also suitable for applicants coming via an MTI scheme and would also suit senior trainees wishing to develop a subspeciality portfolio prior to applying for a Consultant post.
