What skills and experience we're looking for
York High School is seeking to appoint a skilled and committed tutor to work with students who need additional support to develop their numeracy skills. It is expected that this will be for the equivalent of 1 day per week.
Tutoring is proposed to take place with individual students or small groups, during and/or immediately before or after the school day. There will also be an element of remote tutoring for those students who find it difficult to attend school for a number of reasons.
You will have experience of working with students or young people, delivering intervention programmes to individuals or on a small group basis. You will have strong communication and organisational skills, and whilst being a qualified teacher isn’t essential, it would be highly beneficial.
We would strongly encourage any prospective candidate to visit the school. Please email Dawn Becton, PA to Principal and Office Manager, at d.becton@yorkhigh.elt.org.uk if you would like to arrange a visit.
Further details about our school are available on our school website: www.yorkhighschool.co.uk
An application form, job description and person specification are available from the Trust website https://excellearningtrust.org.uk/careers/
Please email applications to recruitment@elt.org.uk
