Enfield Council has embarked on an ambitious programme of regeneration and housing development over the past few years which is continuing and delivering great homes and infrastructure for our residents. We need to recruit an experienced lawyer to act as our Lead Regeneration and Property Lawyer to drive forward this area of work in Legal Services. The successful candidate will play a lead role in facilitating the delivery of our regeneration plans by working with colleagues across the Council. The postholder will carry a varied and complex caseload, including development agreements, commercial and residential property transactions, planning and highways issues, compulsory purchase matters, governance and ancillary issues arising from larger projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious professional to join a friendly, committed and highly regarded in-house legal team to help deliver transformational and exciting projects, as well as making a real contribution to the quality of life and sustainability of the borough. Ideal candidates will have substantive PQE in property, planning, or regeneration in the UK and be used to navigating complex legal issues, providing clear and practical advice, and fostering a positive and productive team environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving forward our key projects and initiatives.
Prior local government experience is desirable, not essential, but you will need to have a keen interest in and enthusiasm for local government, as is the desire to work as part of larger project team.
We work collaboratively and flexibly and welcome applications from all members of the community. Enfield is an Employer of choice who develops talent, encourages innovation and has a supportive working environment. If you want to be part of our journey, we would love to hear from you. All roles are open to solicitors, barristers or fellows of the ILEX.
Our working patterns are hybrid and lawyers are required to attend the office to work between 2 and 3 days per week depending on the role.
Pay rate negotiable up to £60 LTD/Umbrella per hour
