ProMatch Consultancy is working exclusively with our client - a well-loved gem in the heart of Dornoch, known for its relaxed atmosphere, warm service and beautifully prepared, bold and luxurious dishes made with the finest local ingredients.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead their kitchen team and shape the next chapter in the business’s culinary journey.
Our ideal candidate will:
• Have proven experience as a Head Chef or be a strong Sous Chef ready to take the next step in their career.
• Demonstrate a genuine passion for fresh, seasonal food and a flair for modern Scottish cuisine.
• Possess strong leadership and communication skills with an approachable, collaborative and hands-on style.
• Be a calm, organised presence in the kitchen with a focus on consistency and quality.
• Be flexible, with availability to work varying opening hours in line with seasonal peaks.
• Be within a commutable distance and have access to their own transport.
As Head Chef, you will:
• Lead the day-to-day operations of a busy kitchen, ensuring smooth service and first-class quality across brunch, lunch and dinner.
• Design and deliver seasonal menus that celebrate local produce and reflect the businesses commitment to quality and creativity.
• Manage purchasing, stock control, supplier relationships and kitchen budgets to maintain high standards and cost efficiency.
• Recruit, lead, train and motivate a dedicated team, cultivating a positive, collaborative and productive kitchen environment which delivers consistently high-quality food.
• Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health and safety and allergen regulations.
• Work closely with front of house and management teams to deliver a seamless guest experience.
