We are also running a temporary satellite site for autistic infant children at the former Ripley CoE Infants School building.
We are currently seeking a Vocational Catering Lead Assistant to support our students in Secondary and FE in developing essential life and employability skills through practical catering activities.
In this dynamic role, you will work in our fully equipped commercial-style teaching kitchen, helping students build confidence and independence while learning to cook, follow hygiene procedures, and run small-scale enterprise initiatives such as cafés and food sales.
What we’re looking for:
• A positive, flexible and proactive team player
• Hardworking, resilient individuals that can be flexible and have an ability to stay calm when things get tricky.
• Strong commitment to promoting independence and life skills for young people with additional needs
• Experience or interest in catering, hospitality or vocational training
• Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to achieve it on appointment)
Why join us?
• Make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people
• Be part of an innovative team delivering real-world, practical education
• Gain experience in both education and vocational training
• Access to training and development including safeguarding, autism strategies, and food hygiene
• Work in a welcoming, supportive and inclusive school community
• As a Surrey County Council employee, you will be able to access a generous pension scheme, Surrey retail and leisure discount and offer programme, paid sickness leave, built in holiday pay entitlement.
• A workplace which promotes professional wellbeing and resilience. All staff at Freemantles have access to an Employee Assistance Programme, a dedicated staff room and free parking. We also run wellbeing and social activities throughout the year.
Freemantles is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to demonstrably share this commitment.
