About the role
We are looking for a General Domestic Technician to come and join us at Painter Brothers in Hereford.
The primary purpose of this role is to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across all areas of the factory, including walkways, offices, restrooms, break areas, and production floors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
• General Cleaning Duties
- Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of all designated areas;
- Cleaning and sanitising restrooms, offices, and shared spaces;
- Removing waste and recycling, ensuring correct disposal.
• Factory Walkways and Production Areas
- Maintaining clutter-free, clean walkways to ensure safety compliance;
- Cleaning spillages promptly in production zones whilst adhering to safe practices;
- Dusting and wiping down equipment (where possible).
• Kitchen/Canteen/Break Area
- Wiping down and sanitising of surfaces, tables, and appliances;
- Restocking handwashes, sanitisers, and paper towels as needed.
• Health & Safety Compliance
- Adhering to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines while
handling cleaning materials; - Wearing necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times;
- Observing and reporting any potential hazards or maintenance needs.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in industrial or factory cleaning preferred but not essential;
- Basic understanding of cleaning products and appropriate use, including COSHH
knowledge; - Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail;
- Good physical fitness, as the role may involve standing for extended periods and lifting light loads;
- An awareness of the importance of maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
