Crynodeb
The Specialty Doctor will be an integral member of the team providing continuity of care on HASU. The specific timetable will be adapted to the applicants experience and training needs. The post holder will be expected to attend stroke calls (gaining experience of thrombolysis and thrombectomy), care for patients on the ward, attend the regular MDTs and contribute to family meetings and discharge planning meetings where necessary. The post holder will be encouraged to attend our weekly neuroradiology meeting and monthly M&M. There will be opportunities to take part in our active governance programme. The Stroke team are enthusiastic to teach and there are multiple learning opportunities including weekly journal club and a weekly registrar-led teaching programme. The post holder will have the opportunity to help develop the successful stroke simulation training programme, as well as teaching medical students on placement with the team.
