About the job.

National Highways have an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Planner within the East region. You will develop, manage and maintain the master schedule delivery programme for the region for in-year and future year programmes.

With flexible working and various Office locations to work within, including Bedford, Ipswich and Cambridge.

  • Support the Senior Planner to compile and maintain the master view of yearly scheme schedules and delivery plans for the region, supporting the 'one programme' vision.
  • To proactively challenge project plans and identify opportunities to optimise the combining of works as part of regional collaboration initiatives or efficiency opportunities.
  • To provide programme status and variance reports including those to fully support internal month end and year end reporting.
  • To develop strong working relationships and ensure continual liaison and collaboration with Scheme Delivery and Service Delivery colleagues, other National Highways stakeholders and third-party suppliers in producing, reviewing and updating the in-year programme.
  • To take an active role in collaborative planning initiatives, visual planning meetings and meetings that seek to maximise efficiencies across Operations to co-ordinate works and opportunities identified.

About you.

  • Experienced in project and/or programme management methodology and techniques.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven skills and experience to effectively collect, manage, analyse and interpret data to inform decision making and facilitate collaborative planning.
  • Good stakeholder management skills with experience of liaising with multiple project teams.
  • Proven ability to use software/tools to support planning and programme management (e.g. Excel, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project); a qualification is desirable but not essential.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
