To take an active role in the creation and implementation of local policies and procedures including safety controls, operational guidelines and environmental objectives, for the provision of an accurate, cost effective and fully compliant operation. To support the Fleet & Travel Manager and Deputy in all fleet and Travel Service activities and deputise where appropriate during periods of absence To coordinate the driving licence check process for all Trust drivers ensuring full compliance with legal obligations To arrange and provide training for drivers and/or teams on the use of new or specialist vehicles including ancillary equipment fitted To provide input, in depth analysis and reporting and project support for new systems of work including fleet and risk management, driver training, vehicle maintenance and accident management. These may be alongside, or on behalf of, departmental managers and heads of service. To ensure that all works are carried out within agreed cost parameters and to assist the Fleet & Travel Manager and Deputy in ensuring that financial and environmental targets are met. To coordinate access to the Trusts vehicle fleet including key allocation. Ensure maintenance programmes and service/MOT schedules for all Trust vehicles are carried out to meet legal compliance and in line with manufacturers recommendations To process financial information on the Trusts electronic Procurement system including raising requisitions, receipting and coding invoices and credits. To authorise deductions from staff salary payments. To authorise and process work orders and internal recharges for maintenance and insurance claims.
