Crynodeb

The primary duties and responsibilities of the post holder include delivering lessons, supporting students, and assessing their work in line with City College Stratford’s requirements. Duties and responsibilities may be subject to change at short notice in response to the needs of the college. The duties and responsibilities outlined below are indicative and not exhaustive.
 Teach English to Key Stage 2 to 4 (7 to 16 years old), and ESOL and Functional Skills (from Entry 1 to Level 2) adult learners
 Prepare Scheme of work (SoW), Student profiles and Individual Learning Plan (ILPs) according to curriculum areas including English Key Stage 3 to 4 and ESOL and Functional Skills (from Entry Level 1 to Level 2)
 Prepare lessons plan meeting the Awarding body and partners’ organisational requirements
 Prepare various assessment material covering all various level of learners for different qualifications
 Provide informal feedback in the classrooms and summative (written) feedback within a week from examination/assessment dates
 Assess, record, and monitor all student progress, and providing appropriate feedback
 Maintain and update portfolios for each student including students’ work with feedback, ILPs, Mid-reviews and so on
 Support special need learners and work closely with unemployed adult people and young people (from age 7 to 16)
 Carry out assessment, monitoring and evaluation of examinations following requirements of awarding bodies
 Participate in committees appropriate to courses and meetings convened by management as appropriate
 Take part of all meetings including Quality meeting, Health and Safety meeting, IAG meeting and standardisation meeting
 Manage and co-ordinate programmes as required by the Head of Centre and/or Quality Manager
 Submit learners’ progress to IQA and Head of Centre weekly basis
 Undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and participate in staff training activities
 Undertake administrative tasks related to the student admissions, induction programmes and IAG services
 Supervise the assigned students or group of students.


Additional Responsibilities
 Apart from the Teaching, if any student is absent from the class the teacher must notify to the administration straight away soon after the session finish. Along with administration, the teacher is also responsible to report if any student does not attend 3 consecutive lessons to the college management.
Requirements:
• Minimum Teaching Qualifications (Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) & Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training)
• Prior English teaching experience (KS 2-4, SAT, 11+, ESOL and FS English Minimum 2 years)
• Minimum Master’s degree in English or any relevant field
• Strong organisational skills to manage planning, overseeing, and supporting learners and other staffs
• An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
• Experience in creating and maintaining Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
