LTF Recruitment are working with an Alternative Provision Primary school in Derbyshire that is eager to appoint a Primary Teaching Assistant with special educational and behavioural needs. This role is crucial in helping students overcome challenges, develop positive learning behaviours, and achieve their long-term goals.

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children who need an alternative path to learning? Join a supportive and specialist Alternative Provision (AP) setting in the S43 area, working with primary-aged pupils who may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding, long-term role for a resilient and empathetic Teaching Assistant ready to empower young learners in a non-traditional environment.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis with a tailored, nurturing approach
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and behaviour mentors to deliver bespoke learning plans
- Helping manage emotional regulation and classroom behaviour to maintain a safe, structured space
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence across core subjects
- Monitoring progress and adjusting interventions to meet individual student needs

Who We're Looking For
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (Essential)
- Previous experience in a primary school or Alternative Provision setting
- Strong behaviour management and a calm, consistent approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or SEND
- Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality
- Resilient, adaptable, and ready to build trusting relationships with vulnerable learners
