Summary
Pastoral Mentor - Secondary School - Tower Hamlets
Long Term Futures are working with a high-achieving secondary school in Tower Hamlets to appoint a Pastoral Mentor to support students across KS3 and KS4.
This diverse, inclusive school has a strong pastoral framework and prides itself on building positive relationships with students and families. Staff are well-supported by senior leadership, and behaviour expectations are clear and consistently reinforced.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide pastoral support and mentoring for students with a range of emotional and behavioural needs
* Work closely with Heads of Year and the safeguarding team to follow up on concerns and monitor student wellbeing
* Support behaviour management, attendance improvement, and student engagement
* Deliver targeted interventions and check-ins with vulnerable students throughout the week
* Contribute to review meetings, pastoral logs, and behaviour reports
* Build strong relationships with families and external agencies to promote consistency and progress
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with young people in a pastoral, behaviour or mentoring role
* Understanding of safeguarding, SEMH and behaviour policies in a secondary school setting
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with students and families
* A calm, proactive and consistent approach to support
* A background in education, youth work or support services is highly desirable
Location and Transport - Tower Hamlets, London E1
* Excellent transport links via Whitechapel, Stepney Green and Shadwell stations
* Served by local bus routes including 25, D3, 205 and 339
* Easily accessible from Hackney, Newham and Southwark
