Teaching Assistant Level 2
Location: Bradford
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (Level 2 scale)
Contract: upto 32.5 hours per week / Term-Time Only
Start Date: Sept 25

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bradford. The PRU provides education and support for pupils aged 5 to 14 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings due to behavioural concerns. All pupils are referred by the local authority and many require a high level of emotional and behavioural support to re-engage with learning.

The Academy offers a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment aimed at helping pupils address their barriers to learning. The dedicated team works closely with each young person to support their academic, emotional, and social development, with the goal of successful reintegration into mainstream or specialist settings.

The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and experienced team to deliver tailored learning support and behavioural guidance. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role, ideal for those with a passion for making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Support: Assist in delivering learning activities across various subjects, adapting approaches to meet individual pupil needs.
- Behaviour Management: Help pupils manage and reflect on behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
- Individual and Group Work: Provide one-to-one and small group support to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
- Personalised Plans: Assist in the implementation of personalised education and behaviour plans.
- Positive School Culture: Contribute to a positive and safe school culture, promoting respect and inclusion.

Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience: Experience working with children who display challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Approach: Ability to remain calm under pressure and build positive relationships with pupils.
- Attributes: A resilient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.

Due to the nature of the roles, candidates must be UK residents residing within the local area. Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Provide Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all supply staff to share this commitment. As part of our recruitment process, we will undertake the necessary checks to complete your registration with us, inclusive of a video interview, current references, and DBS check.
